Did the mini track today for a battery pack. Pretty fun since I haven't done it in a while.

Made a new jump today. Took 2 shoe boxes. Made a long table top thing. Long enough that I made it a bridge as well. Its tall enough for the mini b to go under. Used some of the old ramps to make this new one because the ones I had before were standalone ramps, didn't have anything underneath to hold them up. And they started to deform and not standing up on their own anymore so I created this. And I also always wanted a bridge type thing. Last day of spring break so charging up another battery and Ill make a a short video with this layout.

Layout looks a little bit tight so I might move the new ramp down further to make it more open. Maybe.

Dude, that's awesome! Love it. So good to see other home tracks.

In the short amount of time getting into (or back into) the sport we've done a couple things (and when I say we, it's me and my 9y/o daughter, trying to get her into engineering). In addition to what I've seen so far. Like making the track go up over chairs and couches. (don't tell the wife, actually don't tell the wife about any of this :) Next up is to get up and over the ping pong table. We'll see how that goes.

Outdoor wise, I did buy a few outdoor rugs to place over the mulch in the backyard. $25ea for 8x12. It works. Super grippy. It's fun to get on the mulch and slip slide away, then get on the rug and it's like oh crap I just went out the side door because I have soo much traction. Good combo of keeping things clean, having fun and not messing up the fancy backyard :)

Decided to (somewhat) put an end on the mini track. Might set it up when no one is home and when I have the mini car running. But currently have the ramps and stuff all put away in the shed, and the car is broken so.

Couple reasons why I decided to not do it as much:
1) I can't make any more space / room for the track
2) Its ripping up the carpet if I do multiple battery packs at the time. Space carpet isn't ideally carpet for RC or RC carpet like the actual carpet tracks around (like EOS and CRC)
3) I don't have enough time, boxes and money to make better or more ramps / jumps
4) I only have 1 mini car, and I only plan to keep it running and can't really do any cosmetic or performance mods / upgrades so 🤷‍♂️

But in the end if I don't do set it up again, It was a great mini experiment and it was fun while doing it :)

Thank you for sharing. It was a creative project and looked like fun!

Now a mini crawler course can be a bit easier, because everything is an obstacle.

I would have sent it though the window by now.
Can't do that if your in the basement ;)

Yea did the mini track for a few battery packs over the past couple weeks. The jumps and wall ride is deforming. Might throw them away and continue on. Maybe try to do something bigger in the backyard.

Could make new jumps and ramps but I have to wait for boxes to come in from packages and I don't want to waste rolls and rolls of duck tape and gorilla tape. :(

Cut up and throw away all the jumps. End of the mini track.

Might do something similar in the future, but Monster Jam style if I get my hands on a Mini LMT or Granite Grom. But, by using those small plastic jumps they have on amazon.

Not about the basement this time. But the backyard. I was at Ollies the other day since we were getting bungee cords for the gates. They had a roll of area carpet for 20 bucks. Thin, flexible. It was a 8 x 6 roll. So today I estimated my track space in the backyard. The 27 x 15 area would be good for the mini b. Kinda tight for the buggy. The 27 x 27 space would be perfect for the mini b and ok for the buggy. I could only do the 27 x 27 space if no one is parked on the parking strips.

Couple rolls of that carpet, fire hose as lane markers. Some custom wood jumps. Maybe a LapMonitor timing system and we got something going! But all of this would be upwards of at least 350 bucks so no clue if it would happen. But I wish. If I make room in the shed, I can store the ramps and hose in there, and I can store the carpet in the basement. The only thing I am kinda questioning is the tire wear because this isn't actual RC Carpet. My basement carpet with the Mini B tires which were P-L Prism and Wedge tires, they did great and they are still like new. (got the tires 2 years ago)

White is the track boarder, the red is the track space.
No, the track will not look like scribbles. 🤣

If I do get this money somehow for this, any thoughts?

Again, the measurements are just an estimate by my feet.

Uncle said that grandma would kill me if I do so one could only wish. 🤣 😅

(If I did the track)

Atleast it won't be a dirt track. Cause that would mean I would have to rip up the lawn and grandma would 100% kill me if I actually did

Might be better to wait and see if anyone locally would be selling old / used turf. I think that would be a good idea. (Actually @luke66 's idea)

If your old enough to work, look at the local stores and see if they need some help. Probably make that in no time.

Or not sure if it's still a thing, but we used to work for the neighbors. Mowing lawns, baby sitting, helping with stuff around their house, walking the dogs, etc... I'm not sure lawn mowing or baby sitting is legal with out a bunch of paperwork and permits these days, people have become real butt heads about stuff.

Also ask your Aunt's and Uncles if they need some chores done. If one my nieces or nephews came around looking for money I have plenty of jobs I need help with.

Wonder if uncle will pay me for helping him fix his cars.

Uncle took the lawnmower we had in the shed so I guess that plan went to waste.
We have the snow blower. If it snows for once. 🫠

I could start growing my YouTube channel.

I did the same thing. I used to make a fortune as a kid going around my neighborhood helping people. Bought myself a Diamondback BMX and lots of hopups for it that way. Well, that and psper route money. But that bike paid for itself.

But I'd be kinda scared for my kid to do that nowadays.

My grandpa used to give me like 20 or 40 bucks or a check when we went to go see him towards my good grades.
I miss him.

And plus no one really carries cash around. And because of personal funds

Diamondback was the best. It only weighed 20 lbs, which was good in the day. Now the bikes are lighter and the kids are fatter.

Just head over the old folks home and hang out. I'm sure some of them will think you're their kin and drop a $20 bill your way. If nothing else you get some apple sauce and a game of checkers.

Have you thought about taking the Mafia approach, make your neighbors pay you protection money so that nothing bad happens to their cars or houses? 😜

You forgot to preface it with "I'm just sayin" as in "I'm just sayin your neighbors have a nice car and could probably use someone to make sure it doesn't get damaged."

Some inspiration. I would have sent it off the cliff into the trees, at least three times.
