I was gonna say, you can use aluminum standoffs too. Mango on here did that with his FMS Smasher a while back. But I don't know how well that would hold up long term on a 1/10 crawler. It may end up damaging your axle.
At some point you're going to have to host a crawler event. The Ecto looked pretty good on there. Not diggin those tires though. They seem rather slippery.

Is there supposed to be a jam nut on the backside of that plate that the upper shocks mount to? If not, I'd put one there anyway.

Is your gear mesh set correctly? The easiest way to set it is get a strip of notebook paper and crush it between the gears and tighten the motor. Your mesh looks loose in the pic.
